Hello, my students. I am back with a new lesson. And today we have a really different one, cause I am going to talk about women’s dictionary. Yes, we do have a dictionary. And I am gonna reveal you secrets, so listen very attentively, especially you guys, OK? OK, let’s get stated.

The word number one is “FINE”. This is a word women use to end up an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up. Never use “FINE” to describe how a woman looks. It will cause you to have one of those arguments.

“FIVE MINUTES”. This is half an hour. But it is equivalent to the five minutes that’s your football game is going to last before you take out the rubbish. So, it’s an even trade.
[
(NOTHING.) This means something and you should be on your toes. “Nothing” is used to describe a feeling woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down and backwards. “Nothing” usually signifies the argument that will last “five minutes” and end with “fine”.

“GO AHEAD.” This is a dare. At some point, in the nearest future, you are gonna be in some mighty big trouble. Wow!

“SIGH.” This is not actually words, but it’s a non-verbal statement which is often misunderstood by men. She thinks you are an idiot at that moment and she wonders “why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over ‘nothing’ ”.

“THAT’S OK.” This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. “That’s OK” means she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. Smells like danger. “That’s OK” is often used with the word “fine” and a conjunction with “raised eyebrow”. Danger!

“THANKS.” A woman is thanking you, do not think, just say “You are welcome”.

“THANKS A LOT.” This is much different from “Thanks”. A woman will say “Thanks a lot” when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have a ----* her in some careless way and it will be followed by a (SIGH). Be careful, not to ask her “What’s wrong?” as she will always tell you “nothing”.

Don’t forget to leave me comments and give me a star or five of four or three. So anyway, five is always better. OK? Bye!

本群成立的背景和学习方式(英文版)

You watched an interesting video at YouTube, liked it, but not sure you completely understood it. Well, copy the URL of that video clip, download it, and transcribe what you’ve heard. Other users can watch it, give you feedback, or offer their transcript to the same video. Then you will know exactly what’s being said in the video.

Transcribing something is an excellent way to improve your listening comprehension. It does a magic to your ears. Try one and you will see what I mean. And you won’t be guilty anymore for spending too much time at YouTube.

Let us know how you like it and what we can improve further.

美国kantalk公司经理给予本群和本群学习方式的积极评价:

Nothing makes us more happy than our users telling us they like the features we developed at Kantalk. The latest example is the video transcribing.

We firmly believe that transcribing a video clip is an excellent way to improve one's listening comprehension. That's why we added YouTube video feature a few weeks ago. Since then, one of our users, Sting, quickly became a top contributor. He submitted many YouTube clips and did a wonderful job in transcribing them.

It turned out Sting is a leader of a fascinating group in China of the dedicated English learners. He started the group last year to take advantage of YouTube's rich video offerings, and its members have since grown to over 200 from all over the world.

Each day they select one YouTube clip and assign it as the homework. Using QQ, a popular IM tool in Asia, they help one other to transcribe the video clips. So far, they have done over 200 transcriptions. Apparently, they have a lot of fun for doing it. And learning too.

If anyone wants to join Sting's study group and eager to take on his homework, feel free to contact him. His QQ ID is 287033838. his QQ group is 32149507.
