/I find this interview quite difficult to transcribe. There are still many gaps in my transcriptions, and there might be some mistakes... I`ll be grateful if somebody helps to complete/correct it. By the way, if you haven`t seen The Fountain yet I strongly recommend it! Lukasz/

Host: Hugh Jackman took two years off from the movies and it was time well spent. He made his Brodway debut, won a Tony award and now is back is back as one of the Hollywood`s busiest leading men. Jackman`s already starred in three movies this year, added his voice to two animated films and tomorrow The Fountain opens in theatres across the country. Hugh Jackman is with us. Good morning!
Hugh: Good morning Harry!
Host: Great to see you.
Hugh: Thank you. You too.
Host: I`m gonna jump right into this movie cause The Fountain is not like a lot of movies. I think almost anyone
Hugh: The best description I`ve heard of it is: "It`s an experience". If you don`t think of it as a movie but almost like a piece of abstract art. Like we go to the museum we don`t spend hours what is ... what feel about it. This movie is a love story, very romantic and...
Host: It takes place in three different times
Hugh: Yes. I play in a way three different characters. One is a Spanish conquistor, one`s a present day psycho... er sorry neuroscientist and then a guy who is in future travelling through the space. so...they`re kind of the same person but they are all different but it`s about this love story that endures every tales and years. And I think the message is ultimately just love is the most important thing and you know as busy as we are in our life take a moment to smell the roses, go for a walk.
Host: When you were reading this script... this script takes place over centuries, over these millennia and you see this is this very passionate character. How did you in your mind`s eyes say... how will I give myself to this character?
Hugh: It was by far the most challenging role I`ve had and it was... It`s a character. I read this . I was so excited, nervous at the same time. It`s not often in movies you get chance to do that stuff... to really push yourself...to go... i mean emotionally i was probably as as i`ve ever been you know. and so it`s a gift. When you have someone like Darren Aronovsky who i think will be a Kubrick... you know he`ll be remembered as one of the great directors.. when you have someone like him you give trust to him
Host: I`m gonna show a little clip right now from a character who`s the contemporary character. He`s in love with Rachel Weisz who is dying of a terminal disease and you`re a scientist who may or may not be on the verge of a cure and scene

you have to repeat the procedure! get confiramation!
Confirmation that the tumour is unaffected?!
Oh tommy!
It`s your decision
I`m so sorry. How`s she doing?
She`s steady
Who`s with her? She`s alone?
She is to rest!
Tommy, no one invents new drugs overnight! noone! you`re not being rational. you can`t fix everything...
Don`t tell me what i can and can`t do!
