It's in places like these that Chinese police save up to 1000 children may have endured maiming and brutality in primitive brick kilns. This report appeared on Chinese state television exposing a crackdown by authorities on underground slave trade.

Police caught the owners of these prison-like kilns in shanxi and Henan province where they ran their businesses with fierce dogs and brutal beatings. The workers were mostly young males, some of whom said they'd been kidnapped and forced to work.

images from the compound show workers sleeping on bricks and the doors to the Courter -sealed from the outside was wire. police commander LZH described the conditions.

they have to get up at 5. have 20 mins for lunch and at night they will locked up.

childredn as young as 8 will force to work up to 14 hour days, and often subjected to beating and given little food. one child explained how they were lured with promises of employment and high wages.

But I asked him how much money each month,he said each month 1300 yuan.

That's the equivalent of 171 US dollars.an attempting offer for most in this province, but it's not only the children who suffered, the mental and physical damages reflected on the old workers were clearly visable.

chinese media say army of 35000 police in central china have so far rescued 468 people including dozens of children from this kind of slave trade.
