I looked up my CET6 score a few days ago and I passed it. I’m very happy! Before the CET6, I had been learning English for the tests, though I know that listening and speaking are essential. I have always recited words and phrases, and I’ve done lots of exercises for listening, reading comprehension and so on. I like listening to the VOA very much because of the speakers’ beautiful voices and pronunciation. I always listen to it at night. American movies, such as Terminator and Spiderman, are my favorites. I like English pop music, too. I went to the New Oriental School to learn English twice. I think all the teachers were very intelligent. They told us their experience of learning English, the way to learn English well, and the skills of passing the English exams. You know, in China, most teachers teach students for the purpose of leading them to pass exams, not for improving their abilities. So they are very serious and strict. I don’t like the way they teach me. But the teachers in the New Oriental School are different. They are very amiable and humorous. Some of them have been to several European and Asian countries and some of them are American. They tell us interesting things of when they were abroad and they describe different customs in different countries. I think they were the best teachers I have had.
